Entering their first season in Orbis Major League Baseball (OMLB), after their disappointing loss against the Protons in the OMiLB semi-finals, and getting second in the OMiLB MVP contest, the Silverbacks are hoping for their big break in the upcoming OMLB season.
In their fist season, the Silverbacks finished in first place with an 8-1 record. The Silverbacks had a rough first few weeks, winning their first 2 games but losing to the Lyonia Lions. After this disappointing start the Silverbacks came into the next three weeks winning all three games and scoring 67 runs. They ended the season 8-1 and going into the post season. Himomota's Prime Minister/Owner of the team, Riku Morus, said that he was very disappointed about the Silverbacks losing and will invest more into baseball programs all around the nation.
The Silverbacks's General Manager, Aaron Levie, can tell his players are getting old and is trying to find new, young players to take their place. As he put it, "We currently have a great lineup to climb to the top of the rankings but when push comes to shove, they aren't able to go that extra mile and win. That's why I believe we need younger, stronger, and more adaptive players to join our ranks."
Here are the newest Himomota Silverbacks prospects:
- Ryan Noda, No. 49, First Baseman. Noda has already shown his baseball promise getting two cycles and 7 triples in his first AAA season.
- Zack Gelof, No. 20, Second Baseman. Gelof is an incredible hitter and fielder that has played one season with the Las Vegas Aviators, the AAA affiliate of the Oakland Athletics in the US.
- Nick Allen, No. 10, Short Stop. Nick Allen, is an incredible young player who's most recent accomplishment was hitting 84 home runs in his AAA season.
- Seth Brown, No. 15, Left Fielder. Seth Brown has show his promise at bat, hitting 17 homers in the first month for his AAA debut and getting a 87% catch rate on fly balls.
Will the Silverbacks be able to make it, or will they crumble during from pressure?
